My factory is busy working on another batch of my production for winter. This time it’s the mid calf tassel boot, one of my core continuous classics that customers love season after season. It’s a cool zip up biker style that is lined in shearling and I think that it works on many levels; it’s a brilliant boot for town with it’s rugged luxe look, but it also comes out every winter for walking the dog on those great country walks when the ground is hard and icy.
Here you can see the leather uppers cut ready for stitching before they are lasted, sitting in a basket under the sewing machine. This boot is made from a natural, vegetable dyed cowhide, which has a tough and raw quality to it that I love – it’s actually the underside of the leather and far less precious.
My only request is that the lasted boots are buffed and polished up using these large soft brushes before they are wrapped in crisp tissue and packed.
