Last week we celebrated the inaugural opening of our new central London store on Duke St. Paying homage to this season’s theme of “take me to Africa”, the store was crawling in African animals. Cobra’s slithered through Boab branches and around cowhide Jungle Boots, the vintage world map hung from the crumbling industrial brick that houses our new collection, while the Zebra’s navigated their way downstairs to witness the new “Botswana Night” tent, a product of a collaboration we have done for SS15 with FieldCandy, an up-and-coming designer tent brand.
There was a touch of old colonial style in the air as our friends, family, and (celebrity!) guests quenched their African thirst on Pink Ginnies and Tusker Beer. Wanda, our beautiful DJ spun some African beats and caterer extraordinaire, Emma Marshall, added a touch of spice as we nibbled lamb skewers, which were instantly cooled with a refreshing cucumber and mint soupcon.
It was a chance for my team, family and friends to come together and celebrate an important milestone for the brand, the opening of a new Mayfair store, the commencement of the new season and also the 10-year anniversary for Penelope Chilvers.
